Chinese Massage

Chinese massage, also known as Tui Na, is one of the oldest forms of therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and has a history dating back thousands of years. It shares several similarities with Thai massage, which is better known in Europe. Both types of massage have a medical basis and aim to promote physical and mental well-being. Nevertheless, they differ in their focus and the techniques used.

Chinese massage focuses in particular on kneading, pressing, rolling, and rubbing the muscles, as well as the targeted treatment of specific energy points and meridians. According to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, life energy—known as qi—flows through the body. If blockages or imbalances occur, this can lead to discomfort, tension, or a general sense of unease. Special manipulation techniques are used to release these blockages and restore harmony to the flow of energy.

Like a Thai massage, but a little different

While Thai massage is often used primarily for relaxation and to loosen up the body, Chinese massage places a stronger emphasis on health-related aspects. It is frequently used to relieve muscle tension, back and neck pain, joint discomfort, or limited range of motion. In addition, it can promote blood circulation, support regeneration, and improve overall physical well-being.

Many people appreciate Chinese massage not only for its soothing effect on the muscles but also for its holistic approach. The body, mind, and energy balance are viewed as a single unit. As a result, a treatment can contribute to relaxation while also helping to restore inner balance and sustainably enhance personal well-being.
